We stayed in the YOLO hostel for two nights, it was amazingly cheap for two nights in a private double room with shared bathroom. The bathroom and our room were super clean. The girl who worked there was so friendly, she recommended us thousand of places. The hostel is clean, there is a nice kitchen and it was really quiet and calm when we were there. I would definitely recommend this hostel, it is close to the city center, and in a safe neighbourhood.
My friend and I (both 18 years old) stayed at this hostel since it looked nice on the pictures and it was located in a great place in the city, near a lot of sightseeing attractions aswell as near some restaurants and pubs. It is also really close to a couple of metro stations so it was very comfortable getting around the city.
Rooms, although not very big, were clean and comfortable. The bathroom unfortunately is pretty small and you don't really have space to hang your clothes but other than that it's clean.
The staff were really helpful and welcoming, especially Cornellia. If you need anything you just give her a call and she will be happy to help you.
On a sidenote, I would advise to ask the receptionist about the Pubcrawl, It's a pretty cool option to meet some tourists and getting to know nice local pubs.
The hostel was lovely and the people who run it are very nice, though they're advice on finding markets are questionable as they sent to to a market (50min away from the hostel) that was closed that day. The rooms are quite big, with comfortable beds and there is a large kitchen that guests can use.
However, when I stayed there in July 2015, there is no sign indicating that the hostel is in the actual building from the street. I only found the hostel after having to ask several strangers. Also, after coming back one night, my friends and I found ourselves locked out the hostel as the owner/manager had locked the outside door from the inside so we spend a considerable amount of time trying to ring someone to come and open the door. Meanwhile, despite us being sober and remaining quiet, we had neighbours shouting at us in Hungarian the whole time.
Despite these issues, I would stay in the hostel again as it is in a great location! Very near main attractions and surrounded by local shops and ATM machines.
I stayed at Yolo hostel from 31/08 to 02/08 2015.
I really enjoyed my stay. The staff was excellent, everybody was very nice and helpful.
I thank a lot Yzy (maybe I didnt write ur name correctly), Andrea and the hostess of hostel (dont kow ur name). U all made my stay really nice.
I enjoyed the room, the position of hotel - near Parliament and all sightseeings.
Absolutely amazing staff! Budapest was my last stop on my interailing journey and the staff where the best by far! On the way to Budapest out train was delayed and we got to the hostel at 11pm the staff stayed up for us so that they could let us in - not a lot of hostels would do this so we were very great full and payed more than the asking price as a thank you. Highly recommend this place, during our stay we received help and advise for local activities and also had an amazing experience
I stay for a night (bonus point as many places else require 2 nights minimum), and have no complain. Super friendly and helpful staffs, cozy kitchen where you can cook. The bathroom is small but very clean. AC was kept on in the bedroom so sleeping in a hot summer night was not a problem. The only problem was the location; it stays as the same address with CHB hostel, so you may need to look carefully to ring the right bell. Call the staffs, they will guide you.
We ordered an ensuite room which only came with a shower not a toilet which meant we had to use the shared one which didn't bother us but we just expected it! The staff are friendly and help as much as there can! The atmosphere is pretty quite and you don't meet many people!
